What rear gear would you use for a street performance car with an 8 3/4, 200r4, and 29 inch tires? I have 4.10, 3.55 and 3.91. 72 Dart.

If your using the wilcap, you will have to trim a few pieces off of the tranny to fit in the tunnel. Also I used the mount from us car tool. I had to remove more of the cross member than what treblig and Mopartoya had to.

I had the caps on wrong sides. Switched them and now it takes about 2 ft/lbs. Is that about right? My 3.55 turn a lot easier. Will the 4.10 turn harder?

Setting up the center with new 4.10 gears and bearings. Set pinion preload to 25 inch pounds. Depth gauge said I needed .096 shims. After setting backlash and preload on carrier, backlash set at .006, and tightening cap bolts. I checked backlash and it was .005. the setup turns hard by hand . So...

I used the wilcap and no trimming is done to the plate. But you do have to remove a lot of the crossmember. I am using coil overs so that didn't bother me.

I measured about 29 inches from face of wilcap to seal. The tranny is in car with driveshaft on so I couldn't measure to end of tail shaft.

Get the measurement from bell to end of tail shaft and I will see if you saved any length compared to the wilcap.

The fan was off center .065 and .015 on their respective axis.
