    What gets a car moving?

Here's a example of a situation where we have only rotational force with no rotation being applied to the driveline. Your stopped on a slight uphill grade and the idle is enough to hold the car in place without the brakes, so the engine is still making power but the torque converter is...

He just runs right over old farm tractor

I will admit I didn't notice the other lanes to the left, I was watching the tractor. Bad eyes and I never enlarged the video on my phone, either. Farmer was definitely in the wrong, shouldn't have been on the highway.

    What gets a car moving?

I don't understand why you think it being measured or calculated makes any difference. And this does not prove you point either, "you cannot have hp without torque" in other words you cannot have rotation without rotational force, Yes True, and "you can have torque without hp, Think of a torque...

    Are you a narcissist?

You have been pretty stable and reasonably humble as far as I can tell. I've met some real jerks in my time and I'm getting pretty good at spotting them quickly.

    Popping thru carb when starting

This could be many things, but I think more likely electrical [ ign ]. If points ign, check gap. Check dist cap & rotor for cracks, arcing. If elec ign, check p/up air gap. No gap or too big a gap can cause backfires. If the vac adv is used, after high mileage the p/up wires break from constant...

    What gets a car moving?

Newbomb Turk. Brain surgeon & rocket scientist. You are an absolute dope. You twist words & see things that are not there. You claim that HP is measured. People faaaaaaaaaaaaar smarter than you say that it is calculated. Any engineer will tell you the same thing. Hence me quoting Harold Bettes...

    Need mechanical work

There’s nothing I hate more than spending money and dealing with other people who have no real interest in helping me. That’s why I took things into my own hands and found awesome people through this forum and local meets for advice.

If you’re on Facebook look up NorthEast Ohio Mopar page, and there may still be a club in Wooster. They’ll know someone who will work on your car

    Headers

My Opinion; My non-coated TTIs went through 5>6 years as a 4-seasons DD, and a couple more summers besides, until the driver's side rusted thru in the merge. I took it down, brazed it up and it went another bunch of years. The P-side went a couple of summers further than the Driver's side, and...

    Need mechanical work

If you can change oil, you can do anything to any of these old cars. These old girls are pretty much nothing but 4 wheels and a motor. What I would advise is, get you a factory Chrysler service manual for your car and READ READ READ. Just a few special tools needed for the job. Nothing...

He just runs right over old farm tractor

What were his options? Fly the tractor in with a helicopter? Don't be ridiculous. There are rural areas all over the country and people drive tractors everywhere to get them there. We see them out here all the time. I DROVE my 49 Ford 8N 6 miles to a tractor show years ago. Took 45 minutes...

    Popping thru carb when starting

Just curious; what are we working on? What Carb? Automatic choke? Did you ever have a carb fire? Is it; Popping during cranking? and ALSO, popping during warm up? But Ok after fully warmed up? Have you tested the compression yet? How big is your cam? and does it have solid lifters? You got the...

sounds like someone i know… A rec from other folks in the classic car world that know what is good from experience is the way to go. The unfortunate reality is that most shops will charge too much and still do it wrong. Your best bet in this situation is likely a dedicated alignment shop and...

    Kelsey Hayes replacement rotors question

Are you trying to put the rotor on the wheel side of the hub? The disk is held to the back side of the hub by the lug studs This is not the KH but it shows what I'm talking about You can not take off the disk without removing the studs. Do you have a drum brake hub?
