    OEM Fuel Sender Accuracy

I filled up today and thought I would share. I have a 70s OEM supersedes fuel sender (the one that is shaped like the aftermarket ones) in my 18 gallon tank - 67 Dart. The gauge needle was exactly 1/2 way between 1/4 and 1/2 tank or 3/8 3/8th of 18 gallons is 6.75 gallons in the tank 18 -...

    Commando vs Charger

In the literature Dodges were branded Charger for the 273 4bbl and Plymouth were branded Commando for 273 4bbl I can not say I have ever seen a Charger branded unsilenced air cleaner on a Dart with a 273 4 bbl. Am I missing something here?

I think they forgot the hardening!

I bought a jet screwdriver to remove some jets from a CARTER BBD carb (I have chewed up too many jets just using a wide screwdriver) Looked good. Wide, flat, and textured. It's going to work great! Put it on the jet and started to turn, a little resistance, ok no big deal. Kept turning then...

Factory senders make all the difference

Got the tank down into my "ruh roh" level Went to the station and filled it up 14.9 gallons. My tank has a dent and only holds about 17.5 gallons (most i ever got in it when completely empty) 14.9 / 17.5 = 0.85 1 - 0.85 = 0.15 (gives decimal equivalent of the fuel left in the tank) 0.15 x 8 =...

Changed out the filler neck gasket today

67dart, 319,000 miles, original gas tank. Had a hope that I wouldn't have to remove the tank, in the imortal words of Maxwell Smart missed it by that much, about 3/4 of an inch! Drained the fuel from the tank Removed the vent tube Unscrewed the trunk floor grommet. Unscrewed the filler neck...

Replacement Plastic Float A-Body Fuel Sender

Doing some tweaking on my fuel sender, 67 Dart. Discovered my 2 year old plastic float had a little fuel inside. I would have preferred to have a copper one but you got to deal with what you have some times. I ordered a replacement float from O'Riley's auto parts, not listed as compatible on...

    67 BBD gaskets under jets?

BBD question... I have a donor carb 1966 IIRC and it has small gaskets under the jets. Mine 67 did not have them when i rebuilt it. Any one use them. It would raise the jets up into the metering rods abit changing the tune. Thoughts?

What do you think... OE 1967 Air cleaner wingnut?

What do you think... OE 1967 Air cleaner wingnut? I don't know where I found this. It may have been chromed as there is copper showing through in areas of ware. I have not cleaned it. There seems to be carbonized buildup in the recesses.

    Calling all 1967 BBD 4116SA 2bbl Gurus

Hi all you BBD gurus! My 273 2bbl (BBD 4116SA CAP) smells like it is running excessively rich. Forgot to mention I'm at 5000 feet now. I rebuilt the carb 1 year ago, I have put 1000 miles on it since. Drivability and acceleration are normal, idles OK, No stumbiling or bogging down. I may have...

    1967 Dart 273 2bbl Throttle Return Springs

I've been helping a member with his carb issues in PMs. Some of the info and photos I'm posting might be helpful to others. I believe all springs are OE from 67 but I can not say for 100%. My dad did not do any modifications to his car but you never know. I counted 75 turns (I recounted) The...

Ok all, Anyone ever recover from this situation. I've broken my share of bolts and screws but this time not my doing, I received the carb this way. I have not cleaned the carb properly yet so not sure just how much of the screw is still in the hole. It is a California carb so the adjusters...
