    guess the VIN

    VIN plate was painted over and 2nd digit in, no one can read it. The first two digits on VIN plates were a different typeface and lighter impression, clearly stamped earlier in the process. Even the shop manual shows this. Did VIN appear anywhere else on '64 Dart?

    I recall mine on the old car being somewhat squared off/mild rectangle. What's on the new one are small circular mirrors -- not much viewing area. Interested in clean L & R originals, or decent repros that look like originals.

    Deal went down 3 weeks ago... some worrisome issues with the carrier, but it got here finally, a week late. It seems to drive ok, have to get it inspected, brakes seem ok.
