I have a ‘72 360 in my ‘66 Dart SW and looking to redo the stock exhaust, the 360 needs more to breath and it’s all sorts of messed up by the previous owner. I’m looking at Doug’s D450, Flowmaster FX mufflers, and a Flowmaster tail pipe kit(15826). Does anyone know if this kind of set up would work or have any other suggestions. I’m trying to keep it low budget and something I can handle myself, I’m willing to spend the extra money for Doug’s cause I know out of my options they’ll give me the least pain. I know I’ll need some sort of intermediate pipe from header to muffler as well. I’m just looking for some advice and tips before I start kissing my money goodbye.
Thank you

Just spend it up front and go with the TTI headers, get the coated ones. Cobble an exhaust if nessasary to save some $$. It will like it and you too!

Unless they have a set I’m missing I don’t think the TTI will work. It’s a column shift 904. Wish it was a floor shift or manual but that’s too much work to do right now.

do you *need* headers or are you still okay with manny-folds?

because if that's the case, then the TTI headpipes and mid with the h/x to mufflers is a DEAD *** drop in, and can be installed on your back in the driveway and also won't totally send your budget into "i'm eating ramen the rest of the month" territory.

I want the headers so the 360 can breath easier and I want to do duals down the whole car. But ok I wasn’t aware of those thank you I’ll look into them. Something nice and easy would be a change of pace for once.

Do you have a part number to what you’re referencing, is it 34025?

i'd get their whole kit, personally. headers to the bumper.

but if you go doug's or sanderson, then just grab their mid pipe and tail's and you'll be in it to win it.

i've put in a bunch of their stuff. the last one i did was on my 65 with a 318 4spd, everything went together like buttcheeks.

On tti’s site the only shorties I see say ‘67 A body, would those still fit or no? I like price of the shorties a lot more. Looking at their stuff more I do like the whole header to bumper kit a lot.

i don't think those fit, or at least not without a lot of work.

the choices for early a exhaust are few. i don't think anybody makes a drop in shorty. at least you're automatic, so you have TTI, doug's and sanderson as options. there are 340 manifolds that work, but you're into "header money" at that point.

if you want the path of least resistance, the whole TTI kit is the way to go. it's a whole bunch of money, but in terms of dollars spent to limit headaches and heartaches, it's the best path.

i've not installed TTI's tail pipes on a narrow body, i've dumped at the axle. but i have done several 67+ cars and the fit, finish and attention to detail is worth the extra bread.

Ok thank you that’s very helpful. I’m definitely leaning into that path now might just bite the bullet and spend the extra for the headers and kit.

Im still on this process of redoing my cars exhaust and I think I’ve found my answer for the most part but I still need some help. I think I’m going to go with Sanderson DD9’s because they’re a little more in budget for me and the other work I need done I also still want to get the full header to bumper kit from TTI but I’m not sure if I’d be able to get to 2 happy and connected. TTI doesn’t have header extensions for 2.5” 3 bolt flange so does anyone have any good suggestions or is gonna just be fixing up something myself to make it work.
Thank you
