how much MPH should you gain from the 1/8th to the 1/4??

i was just talking to clonestocker and he said his duster gains 20 mph!!
mine DONT!!! :puker:

Mine gains 25.5mph from the 1/8 to 1/4. Here are some #'s, 6.467et at 105.06mph in the 1/8 , to 10.220et at 130.58mph in the 1/4. I will go faster this Spring!! It depends how fast you are going, how much you are going to gain..

1/8= 83.33

1/4= 104.19

Mike I asked you in another post what is your top top end with those gears?
Not at the track but on the highway.

Don't mean to High Jack the thread...but how do you convert the 1\4mile time to the 1\8??? say a car runs 12@120 whats that in the 1\8??

i don't have any exact..i haven't ran my car yet..i'm going to try to run a few times this summer...i was just tring to figure out where my goal should be set at...and was just wondering what it was in the 8th..because a guy has an egale talon awd and said he was runnin high 9s in the 1\8 and i'm hoping my bigblock demon (fairly stock 440) will run around 7 in the 1\8

Tony with 4.56 gears and a 28" tire would be

3090rpms at 55

With a 26" tire it would be 3328 rpms at 55

with 4.30 gears
28" = 2914 rpms
26" = 3138 rpms

At the track he said he crosses the line ar 6500, wich isnt to high for his motor.

I will look when I get home but I think I was like 100 mph at the 1/8th and 127.04 at the quarter. I was spinning the slick to 3rd gear though. :roll: :roll: :roll:

Mike, there is no exact formula..a fast car will gain more MPH then a slower one, but not at the same rate. Mike's trap rpm should be 6500 IIRC.

Mike, I assume you are still trying to figure out why you are slowing down? I wonder if your converter is going south?
I think Don has a formula to figure that out. Call him he knows his stuff.
