1 wire alternator

Can anyone tell me how to change over from a 3 wire alternator to a 1 wire,what do i do with the other 2 wires, i'm running a 408 stroker motor with electronic distributor,have been running the old alternator from the 318 motor,it was smoking and about to catch fire after a burnout session yesterday.would like to replace with a single wire alt.

Just hook up the output wire and tape off the two field wires. You can remove the regulator.


IF YOU have a trunk mount battery and race NHRA, you might have to make some changes.
