30 or 40 unmuffled big block modified race cars on a small oval track. Everybody, everywhere makes them run mufflers these days! Plus there are almost no tracks left around here.

For me, an F-4 Phantom on engine start up.
A very distinctive sound, that i will never forget.
I really liked my Air Force years, working on them.

This is the sound I'm going to miss. This is an S-3B Viking coming in for a landing at NAS North Island in Coronado, CA. I used to work on the fire control radar for these bad boys. They were sub-hunters, and the radar was so sensitive it could pick up an enemy periscope sticking up above the surrounding waves.
