what is a good key on 12v source for an electric choke holley. I've been told that the alternator; would this work? if so how (which wire)

There is only one wire, under the hood, switched 12V on factory "stuff." The traditional "dark blue" is "ign 1" or "ignition run" feeds the key side of the coil ballast, the regulator, one field wire on 70/ later cars, the electric choke, and I believe the idle solenoid if used.

It IS NOT FUSED, so be careful, or better, ADD a fuse. You can come off anywhere it's handy, up at the resistor, or the blue field wire at the alternator
