14 X 5.5 Rim Tire selection???

Any one know what tires and tire sizes will work on the sbp 14 X 5.5 rims? I was looking at the M & H Racemaster Muscle Car Drag Tire in 235/60-14 but they recommend a 6.5in wide rim, with no range to the rim size. I am open to other tires, but want some thing kinda vintage looking it a street legal drag tire. Thanks for any help or advice!!!

Not saying it's right, but I have a set of 235/60-14 radials on a set of 5 1/2" rims... I also know a guy with a Duster with 245/60-14 BFG TA's on a set of stock 5 1/2" Rallye wheels (that's a bit too pinched to me).
I was always under the impression that bias ply was less rim width sensitive than radials (though I went out and bought some 7" rims to put the same tire you've got on...).

I had B.F Goodrich 235-60-R14 installed on my 14x6" front rims and it looked stupid because the sidewall was bulging out too much past the rim, I had them changed to 225-60-R14. It all depends on the look you want, if you want a flush side wall on a 5.5" rim then 215-60-R14 would be more realistic, but 235-60-R14 should fit on your 5.5 rims if you dont care about tire bulge on either side.

I was thinking about getting a new pair of 15X7 steel wheels with 4in back spacing from Classic Industries pn.MW855 http://www.classicindustries.com/mopar/parts/mw855.html
And put the 235/60 15s on them. But not sure if that wide of a wheel and tire will fit on an early A.

You'll need someone with a 65 A body to chime in here to verify what is largest setup you can fit without modification. My yellow 68 Barracuda in my avatar has 14x8" rims on the back with 245-60-R14 which fit with no problems, but I probably have more wheel well space to work with.
