Putting feelers out for a 16:1 manual box or just worm gear and ball nut. Box can need rebuilt that's fine.

Do you have a man box currently to swap a worm gear into? I was told by a local rebuilder that a simple worm gear change isn't hard, and that he could rebuild my box at 16:1 for pretty cheap parts included.

That may be easier than finding one here...

I can get a box from my local yard so if I jest get a gear that's fine too, actually preferable since I'll probably have to do a rebuild anyway.
Can you find out if your guy will sell just the gears or if he has to build them himself?
