Same happened to me. I planned on paying off last years riding mower. Now I can pay off this months fuel bill instead. I need a tax shelter. I guess having a child this tax year will help.
Doesn't your house bring in money for you at tax time? This year was the first year I could claim my house fully on my taxes and I got back twice as much this year. I used to own my own business on the side and I purposely made sure is was in the red every year. I think on my best year it only got me back an extra hundred dollars or so. I invested in a chunck of property once hoping to use that as a shelter but I bought it cheap and the taxes on it where like nothing. Than I sold it to buy my house than I got screwed over that year because I sold it for twice what I paid for it. Than because I only owned for a very short time and doubled my money on it I got hit with some other kind of tax.
