Coming up on a year since I bought this thing..

I like the look of the improvements you've made to the car. Post pictures after you put the slot mags on it, please.
I wanna run 245/60 rear and I’m not 100% on what front to use.. thinking a 165/80 but I wonder how it’ll look. I just don’t want it to be too narrow where it’ll look a little stretched. I’ve used them before on a SN95 GT that had race stars on it.. that was a 3.5in wide wheel though. I’m open for suggestions on that. I’ll have to give up white letters since there’s no tires that small that also have white letters.. bummer

Wow that thing is beautiful. really love the color and side trim package. And a year isn't bad. i'm 2.5 years in and finally got about 40 miles on mine before winter :)

The fuel in the tank was put in when I did the 4spd swap last October hahaha.. it hasn’t been driven much because I was in the middle of one thing or another.. or because of weather conditions …. Hell froze over last winter. Totally unheard of for us down in Louisiana

I do have an outdoor cover for it but by then my rain water leak was fixed so I wasn’t so concerned about that.. I underestimated the amount of the white stuff we were gonna get.. it stays under a cover regularly now.

Yeah.. here in michigan around early december i just shut down.. even put heat in my garage this year but i just wanna curl up and be warm, old age sucks :) spring is coming though.. time to get things done. I always wanted a 67-69 dart, it's one car i never had, had a 64 and a 73...

Oh, if anyone wondered the factory paint color was LL1. It’s been repainted before. The current shade is a little darker than it should be. If and when I do get it repainted, the side trim will come off. I never cared for it. I think the GT fender trim on the 67 GT was superior looking compared to the 68 side trim.. but to each is their own. I don’t hate it but if it gets resprayed, it comes off.

For me 67-69 Darts and Barracuda Fastbacks are where it’s at. If someone offered a similarly built 68 FB… I’d have a hard time deciding on that one but… I’ve survived enough misery with this one, tough to walk away from. It would be extremely difficult

Yeah, when i got my car it was between it and a 69 notchback... I just love early b-bodies too much... kinda wish i had gotten the notch though :)

The engine is stock and pretty tired. Still sporting the Carter BBD 2 barrel. I have a low rise edelbrock 4 barrel intake for it and a close friend offered to sell me a nearly new 670 Holley to put on it for a great deal…

Ultimate goal is to do a 5.9 swap but here locally, seems to be a challenge. Only leads at salvage yards local to here was one for 1500 bucks that’s running and in a Dodge Ram. Seems pricy for a 20+ year old engine even if it is running still. May just try to be patient, save some money, and spring for a ready to run BP408 crate engine.. that would be the ultimate.

Run 185/80 15s, instead of the 165s it will give you a bit more street contact just in case. I ran 165s for a very long time and finally swapped to the 185s. The car had a "little" bit better street manners with the slightly wider tire.

Hmm interesting.. I was considering maybe a 205/65… having a touch of bulge from width be nice. I think those will be only an inch shorter than what I plan to run in the rear (245/60). Having something close to the rear would be good. Having a super short front looks a little funky. Again those 165s looked fine in a previous instance but the wheel was an inch and a half narrower than these will be. I just can’t stand when a sidewall is being stretched from being too narrow

Shame there’s not a site out there that could give you a visual representation of how it looks on a certain size wheel..

The current tire on the cragars is probably a little tall in the front but at the time I wanted a middle ground of all four being the same.

The 185s are just a little taller and wider than the 165s. I ran them because they were DOT legal and all I had the haul to the strip were my slicks. These days my car is bracket only on 29.5 x 10.5 x 15 and 27" tall Moroso DS2s. The avatar picture is indeed my car, but there have been a few changes since that picture was taken.

the only thing i did on my 69 so far is 15" small lug rallies
245 60 15 rear cut the lip but still rub a little ,have to roll the inner lip
front did 215 70 they hit the front corner dropped to 205 70 15 6"rims on the front 7" on rear

That’s partly while I went with a rear spring that adds some height to give a little more breathing room.

Hmm I’ll have to do some looking. Only name brand tire that size I can find is a classic car tire for around 400 a pop or some off brand trailer tires..

The 185 tires were popular on Volvos back when I ran them. You can get them at WalMart, they range from 58.00 to 70.00 in my area.

Currently looking at Walmart’s website.. they don’t even show a 185/80/15.. well, this car will be mostly commuting around the country roads.. I’ll see what I can find.. something tells me the 15x5 wheel wasn’t such a great idea lmao

I ran 205/75 R14 fronts and 245/60 R14 rears, factory small bolt rallye wheels on a 1970 Dart with no problems. My brother has a 68 Dart GT that runs 225/70 R14 fronts and 255/60 R15 rears with some minor clearancing on the outer wheel lip of the quarter panels on big bolt rallye wheels with '73 up front disc brakes.

Yea my last 69 ....40years ago
Ran 225 70 14 front 245 60 14 rear
Was going for the same look with 15s
And the 225s on the front where to tall
Think I'm going to add a leaf to the rear to stiffen it up and would like to raise it 1/2"

No idea how you remember that from 40 years ago... i looked at my front tires last week and can't remember :)

Be sure to keep it though.

That stuff is getting harder and harder to find in good condition.

Check your local Auctions for airport vans/shuttles ex police units and government auctions..

They are still around with 5.9's and because they are on a maintenance schedule, they are usually in good shape.

Try here.

The tire part number should be the same in the USA
