Might be better off getting another starter? I bet you could find that at Hershey if it is on this year.

I would imagine the bendix is all the way out before before switch closes the circuit. So a proper switch is necessary. Had a 50 chevy that wouldnt crank,but the linkage was bent. The truck had a bell crank setup across back of engine. My buddy has a 27 or 28, all complete and running. But i cant go look at it until this covid crap tapers off.

Roy, I struck out with my guy, he restores old Cadillacs & said those are almost impossible to find. He said there are probably a few out there but he doesn't have one & doesn't know of anyone who does.

Ok I couldn’t get a picture of the right one. But I got a picture of the one that was on it. A 28-32 style. Which worked half assed. He told me the correct one is about 1 to 1 1/2” longer.
