Dear members,

I am restoring a 1965 Valiant convertible V8 and missing some parts.
I didn't know is was a rare car, so I have some trouble to find parts in Europe, so I ask for help here.
After I bought this project, I found out a lot of mouldings are missing and also the top frame! :eek:ops:
Is was such a mess, it wasn't visalbe. Now it's up and running.
So I found out this top is the same as for a 1964 Dart, which is far more avaible, due to it's large productionnumbers.
I do have all the hydrolics, but no mouldings, latches, sunvisors and the complete top frame.
So if you have something for me, please let me know. It only has to be sent to Florida, I handle it from there.

Please let me know,
Thank you,
Jonathan from the Netherlands

Dart's had a longer wheelbase with the extra length in the passenger foot wells. I would think this would affect the convertible top frame in some way, but not sure how.

Alright,
I'd rather go for Valiant top off course , just for the idea alone.

'63 is exactly the same body, so it will work out.

Thank you all for your PMs, I will go for a packagedeal off course, so here you can see what I'm still missing:

My list so far:
- Top frame with latches
- seat chrome
- windscreen front pillars and horizotal bars
- sunvisor with latch receiver
- I do have inner pillars and bar, but very rusted. AlSo have mirror.
- 2 ashtrays rear seat (bigger)
- right taillight lenses are broken
- some small pieces from button strip of the top cover.
- both original front armrests are missing.
- both seatbelts are very rusted

And more I don't know yet. So please tell me.
Thank you so much,
Jonathan

I've parted out a 65 Valiant and Dart convertibles and yes the top frames are different. The top frame offered by 2many for the 63 Valiant should be the same as the 65.

A few pics.

I have a passenger armrest that has been re-chromed and a armrest pad and the trim that goes around the back window if interested.

Thanks for all the pictures!

Dart is not equal to Valiant, wow, that's an eyeopener!

Please PM me with prices incl. shipping to Clearwater, FL 33765.

Thank you, Jonathan

The outer and inner windshield trim, the bucket seat frames/rear seat frames, and the doors for the Valiant and a Dart convertibles are the same. Thé rest of thé trim and body panels are unique to each style. Were you asking me about the stuff in the picture or 2manymopars?

While looking at the pics in post #8, 2nd picture, I don't see the little transition molding that fits into the rear trim and the quarter window trim (not seen either). The only way to make sure is to check the 63 part numbers against the 65 part numbers.

Greetings,
what was the origin of your Valiant convertible? Are the taillights rectangular or round?

A Canadian Valiant of this vintage would have been built on a Dart chassis, with a Valiant front clip. From the pictures you've posted, I can't tell.

Hi, my Valiant is build in LA, according the VIN. I owend several Valiants, also an other '65 2 door.
It also had the round tail lights.

Regards,
Jonathan

BUMP!
I had a few options, but far from ideal.
Does anyone around the Eastcoast have the parts I need? Because I'll ship from Florida.

Thanks,
Jonathan

In Sweden? That sounds good, but is it from a Dart? I have to make shore it will fit my Valiant. The top is not the same, I learned here.
I might be interested depending on the condition.

Thx, Jo

BUMP!!

Still haven't found were I'm looking for! All offers seems to be a dead end street, no body tells me the shippingcots to Florida. Nobody is willing to ship this or something?
So please feel free fo make me an offer if you have a Valiant soft topframe. And the thinks I asked earlyer.

Thank you for your time,
Jonathan
