1964-66 4 speed bellhousing question

Yes, up to a point. the front bearing retainer on the later 833's came in some different diameters. Some can be swapped, some can't. Shifter location on B, C, and E bodies are in a different location too, as well as the extension/tail shaft length, and output design and spline count.

Sorry if you’re just restating—you’re saying that a stock 1965 273 would mate to a post-68 a833 too?

And the original gearset from the 65 A833 will fit into the later trans if you want to keep the 3.09 low gear while getting rid of the ball and trunnion front u-joint. And if you've swapped in an 8 3/4 rear end, the driveshaft out of an A body Barracuda or Duster with an 8 3/4 rear and 4 speed (or A230 three speed) will fit as is (may have to swap front yoke, but the shaft will fit as is). Assuming, of course, that the later trans is an A body trans.

Just FYI, overall low gear ratio of a 3.09 low gear with 3.23 rear gears is 9.98. To get the same overall low gear with a 2.66 low gear, you would need 3.73 rear gears.
