I have just painted my 64' Dart, installed the drivers side mirror and it is in the wrong location, cannot open vent!

Has anybody else come up with this problem? The holes on the door are original as we took most of the paint down.

I noticed many variations in mirror mounting on early cars built in different factories over the years. While I've never had one that prevented the vent wing from opening, I've had several that were blocked by the vertical division bar between the vent and the door window. I've also seen several that were fender mounted for some reason. You could try rotating the mirror portion as they will get farther from the vent when rotated counterclockwise and closer when rotated clockwise due to their offset mounting to the mirror base.
