1965 273 4 bbl intake

Hello i have a 1965 barracuda with the stock 2bbl intake set up. Im looking for a little more get up and have been doing research. Ive heard an early 318 intake will fit but ive been hearing mixed opinions. Does anyone know what could work with little machining and modifications. Thanks in advance

I would not go that route. The 64 & 65 273 heads use a 5/16 bolt with a 1/2 wrench. It is also at a different angle. I am sure people have done it but I could never recommend it. The 66 up 273, 318, 340, and 360 use 3/8 bolt at 90 degrees to the intake face. It will be easier and probably cheaper to get the right intake.

Edlebrock Performer can fit, you need to wallow out the bolt angle to the more vertical 65 heads and use some hardened washers under the smallish 5/16 65 bolts. Just lean over a drill. I ran one for at least a year with no leaking like that, but I have a 273-4 intake if interested. PM me. There were no 318-4's that would fit.
