Hello to everyone on board I have a 1965 Dodge Dart GT /6 1 barrel automatic.
49523 miles garage kept since 1968.
I need suggestions advice on whether to beef up/6 or upgrade to v8.
Thanks

Welcome to FABO. Love those early Darts. Your choice. Slants can be fun to build or find a 273 or 318 to install. Post some pics when you can. toolmanmike

Welcome to FABO!!!

Your question about beef up the /6, or upgrade to v8 is a religious one - you'll find both denominations here.

Really need to know what you want to do and what you want to spend.

V8 will get you more bang for fewer bucks

Some people (myself included) need to scratch the 'what can you get out of a slant?' itch (but I'm covering my bases and doing a small block stroker in my '64 Dart wagon).

Check out the Slant 6 Engines section for more on the slant: http://www.forabodiesonly.com/mopar/forumdisplay.php?f=77

Also, check out the Forced Induction Mopar section for Slant and V8 supercharging and turbocharging info: http://www.forabodiesonly.com/mopar/forumdisplay.php?f=84

Also, have a look at www.slantsix.org for more on the venerable leaning tower of power

Regardless, consider upgrading your brakes first!

welcome from fellow dart guy. if you just acquired the dart, like he said, read about both religions here and slantsix.org. and drive it some ( after checking out those 9 in drums), and get a feel for what you might want. I have both the Baptist and Methodist versions! ha ... love both....

Welcome! If the body and paint are good and less than 50k on it I would just save it as a survivor car! Lets see a pic or ten.
