Hey, I'm looking to do a carb rebuild on my car, not sure exactly what carb came with it. I figured it'd just be easier to ask you all since you guys would know for sure.

Which engine? To start. ;)

I suggest look on the carb, it should say whose carb it is, Holley, Carter, etc.
On a car thats 40 years old, anything could have been changed by now.

whenever you find out what you have, i got my rebuild kit form carb doctor, may not be the best place, but thats where i found mine for my carter 4 barrel and they have a lot of kits.

I always forget to mention.

2 bbl 273. Where would I find the carb model and stuff on the carb?

Good to ask questions if not sure, that is how we learn stuff. :)
Good to read too, even if reading these forums, it helps to get some more info.

:read2:
on the side of the carb, and there should be, a tag hanging off it too.
I have pics of the carb that are blurry, that came off my 273. Carb is long gone.

You don't which brand carb it is and you're going to rebuild it? Yea, nothing could go wrong here..... :)

The correct carb for your engine is Carter 3843S for manual transmission and 3844S for automatic transmission.
