Let me preface this by saying I'm a city boy and this is my first project :newb: . I'm not an expert at anything except how to use Google. About 4 years ago my girlfriend moved in and was driving a POS old Nissan Sentra. I felt bad and gave her my 3rd gen Miata and bought a Audi TT 3.2. All was well in the world until she caught the sports car bug and piled up a few moving violations and collisions. As a result the love in my relationship with my insurance company quickly faded. They were screwing me hard and I was running out of grease. I'd been looking at classic projects for awhile and telling myself as soon as all these premiums and deductibles dropped I would make a move. Finally I got fed up sold the Audi and started scouring craigslist for prospects. I found a 66 Dodge Dart 270 and got bit hard. It looks like some tried to turn it into a low rider and failed miserably(didn't even bother to roll the fenders before dropping the car). Also the paint job is terribly done. I picked it up off someone who wanted it as a project but now has to leave the country for $2,300. I feel I over paid because its a four door but I really like the car. The goal is for it to be a daily driver as I average about 5 miles a day in driving. No car note, low insurance and no costly foreign maintenance feels pretty nice.

Wow sorry pictures are massive. I just got it running yesterday. The gas tank is bad and I ordered a new one for $83 Auto Parts Warhouse and Tank straps for $25 after shipping Rock Auto In order to get it running I had to pick up a Fuel Pump from Autozone for $17. There's a bit of body rust to deal with once she's road worthy. So far its a lot of little things. I also did some research and found out the factory paint was bronze metallic YY1. I'm curious to hear anyone's opinion on the pros and cons of going all original or just original on the paint.

Welcome to the site and to the joys of a-body ownership. Just an fyi, around here most members will use the English system to state specifications, for example you'd say your Dart has a 273.
