1966 Dodge Dart GT
I purchased car from original owner’s daughter – car spent entire life in Texas before I brought it to KS and set out to get car back on the road. Car now has an KS antique title.
Work we did includes the following:
Car runs and drives great – it is a blast to drive and lots of comments/thumbs up. Lingering things to fix include:
- 273 Charger Engine – rated at 235hp; 10.5:1 compression, 600 cfm Carter AFB four-barrel carburetor and a 0.425/0.425-inch-lift cam with 248 degrees duration.
- 904 Transmission – 3 speed AT
- 8 ¾ rear diff – sure grip (limited slip)
- Kelsey-Hayes front disc brakes & 10” drums on rear
- Factory heavy-duty suspension includes upgraded front torsion bars & rear leaf spring count raised from four and a half to six
- Factory AC car – all removed but available with car

- New rear shocks
- New radiator (US radiator – looks like original); we saved original radiator too
- New gas tank & sending unit
- New fuel pump
- New water pump
- New thermostat & housing, hoses, etc.
- Rebuilt carburetor
- New battery, cables, etc.
- New heater core
- New blower motor
- New plugs, wires, etc
- New interior carpet & floor mats
- Had transmission rebuilt – all new seals & valve body
- Rebuilt brakes
- New tires/Cragar wheels (still have factory wheels too)
- New bluetooth radio in trunk
Car runs and drives great – it is a blast to drive and lots of comments/thumbs up. Lingering things to fix include:
- Speedometer / tach do not work
- Temp gauge doesn’t work
- Controls for heater/ac (knobs in dash) do not work
- Missing chrome pieces on passenger side; some bondo present as well
