-
thanks guys, really been wanting to work on it and Im just now really getting the chance to:thumbup:

with I had my camera for the midnight drifting going on by the airport last saturday...this thing stuck out like a sore thumb amongst the supras, corrollas, 240s, and stuff!

Quote of the night was 'State Trooper! Everyone out the back way!':burnout:

Fired up Hairy Canary today...cant wait till this engine is in Scary

Went to the Nationals in woodburn yesterday...first time out of town and first time racing this car...it did better than I expected, didint NEED to open the hood and ran a best of 17.62@75:cry: better than the 18+ second run I thought it would run but still god awful slow. Got two time runs and spun pretty bad out of the hole in round two...lost:cry:

was also hosting a NWNeon meet....heres some pics!

scored a perfect pair of headlight rings, drivers fender and 1/4 trim, a perfect interior mirror, the rubber dashpad hold downs, some decent door weather stripping, a pair of Valiant dog-dishes, and a NICE GAS CAP at a local junkyard yesterday....thinking of going back and grabbing the manual steering box and column and the perfect carpet hold downs...:toothy7:

sad to see such a decent car there even if it is a 4-door...66 Valiant 200 by the way, /6 automatic...wacked pretty hard in the passenger 1/4 and door.

How are the door panels, and what color?

I just got my 65 100 delivered,so it will be awhile before I can afford another project, but I would love to have a Valiant wagon. Keep up the good work and post more pictures!

I will post pics when I can....camera crapped out:angry4:

long overdue update...

Race rubber mounted...205/75's on stock 14x4.5's in the front, 26x9.5 Hoosiers on 14x8's in the rear. Planning on some 14x6's in the rear with some decent street tires...more on that later, Ill do a writeup when I do...Everything color matched to the original yellow! Yes, the car is THAT faded!

oh, and picked up a little something to make it fly...:D

What's the backspacing on those rear wheels?? They look great! Cool wagon!

Crappy for anything but a something with 'radiused' wheel wells lol...I think 3.25 or 3.5...same as the slots that I had, gonna need to roll the lip just to be safe though.

so, the original 273 finaly began to make a rather strange noise...like a slowly dying powerstroke under the foot of a FedEx driver...woops! THe wagon sat pretty stagnant as I gathered parts and gumption to finaly tackle the big swaparoo...pulling the 273 out of the wagon and the very hot 318 from the Cuda to put in the wagon.

The Cuda, sadly, is currently engineless but the numbers matching one is going together now...Yay for Stockerdom!

So anyway, the engine that now resides in the BeaterWagons engine compartment consists of....

318 out of an 85 'charger
re-ringed (ORIGINAL BEARINGS AND OIL PUMP)
deck milled .055
cloyes double roller timing set
mopar performance '759' cam
smith brothers pushrods
casting #302 heads, ported with stock valves/springs
mid 70's EGR cast iron intake
Holley 600 4160 style carb
stock, remanned electronic dizzy
mopar performance orange ignition controller
fancy $2 finned valvecovers
stock exhaust manifolds
solid drivers motor mount
also added a transgo TF2 kit to the original 904

on to the pics

This car is insanely fun, spins the new rubber (more on that later), and is quick enough and enough to handle that I had the ladyfriend tearing up in a ball on the passenger side of the seat :burnout:

so on to the new rubber...
Im running the yellow painted skinny steelies on the front posted elsewhere in this log....the rears are home built. I cut the rims off a pair of 14x4.5's and used the centers in a pair of chrome rims that I cut the ford centers out of...they are 14x7's with a 4.5" backspace (yes they fit under ANY A-body :toothy8:). I painted them to match and wrapped them with 245/60 GrandAm radials.

Its true about babes loving wagons, or should we say A body wagons?
My 64 Dart (pic posted) has gotten a couple comments. I think its because it looks like a big cute frog with the big h lights and bezels. Too bad I got it on the road
AFTER getting married. Fortunately, the wife likes it too.

End of the world cruise, stock vavecovers and air filter added to the 318, and the original 273 under the shelf and another I picked up friday on the floor...
