1967 barracuda electrical question - main harness connectors

Hi,

Can someone tell me the best way to remove old wires from a main wiring harness connector? I removed my ignition wire from the harness because some wires were broken, and cannot seem to remove the end connector! Any advice would be appreciated.

Sounds like you mean the "bulkhead connector". Either way, most connectors are "56 terminal" type, also called "Packard 56" and "GM/Mopar style". You can find photos on e-bay. The male terminals are easiest to remove (your question). You squeeze them longitudinally near the base to close the gap, and wiggle them out. I use curved needle nose pliers or some funky pliers I found that have V-channels on each side.
 
In the upper left of the photo, the tang or split on the upper side of the left column of terminals "springs" out to latch, so you as Bill said, "squeeze" to release

The females below have a little tab sticking out on the lower side
