This is the second time I have owned this car and I have decided "Louie" isn't going anywhere now. This will be a slow going restoration. When my funds allow me to update this thread I will.

Not 110% sure what I am doing with it yet. I know that I have a gallon of Hemi Orange paintand the 360 I am rebuilding, for the second time.

ALL INPUTS ARE WELCOME seeing as how I am not sure what to do with this beauty.

The story on the motor: It is a 360 out of an 81 B100 1 ton van

I am keeping it stock bore and stock stroke. I rebuilt it the first time (all of the pictures above) and never took the heads off. I put the engine in my previous car (1973 charger) but never completely finished hooking it up. I traded the 67 dart for that 73 charger, then ended up trading back about 3 years later. I pulled the engine before I traded back and decided that since it had smog heads that I would pull the heads and upgrade. The cylinder walls were pretty rusted so I decided to redo an entire build on it.

I traded an old suzuki I had laying around for a set of eddy heads (#60779) which will make an excellent upgrade. The guy will be showing up on the 29th from south Texas with the heads and that is where I sit now.

engine specs so far
stock bore
stock stroke
stock crank
stock rods/pistons
eddy heads (60779)
.509/.280 duration purple mopar performance cam
eddy RPM performer intake
carb - undecided

Got a ton done today!!!! I pulled some disc brakes off of a 75 duster and gutted them, sandblasted all the pieces, and paint/clear coated them.

Drivers side done!!!

Couple of questions for the pros here.

What are you guys's views on 904 transmissions? Pros and cons.

Will a milodon oil pan originally bought for a charger work on a dart? Small block 360/hooker super comps

B-Body headers different that A-Body?

If I got the brakes off of a 75 duster, which brake hose do I use? A 67 dart with discs or a 75 duster with discs?

Do I need a diff master cyl?

Best place to get a floor pan? Not patchable, will need completely cut out and re-welded in.

pan I am pretty sure wont work headers are different too. 904 is a good trans just depends whats you want to do with the car.

I had a feeling the headers were different, since they were for a labeled "b-body", but when I bought the pan it wasn't labeled for any specific body style, and I did have it mounted in my 73 b-body.

I plan on having a nice driving mild street build. 3.55 or 4.10 gears with 400 ish hp. Won't be used for track use but MAYBE 2 or 3 times.

Love that charger!! Calipers and control arms turned out nice. You might want to do yourself a favor and get rid of the chrome thermostat housing(or check for flatness)..i have read several threads where they leak like a bugger!! Doesnt look like your 1st rodeo though....LOL

No kidding? Never heard that about them but I will definitely keep that in mind!! Don't need any over heating especially with eddy aluminum heads.

That actually is my first rodeo, thanks for the compliment!!

Finally got Louie's drivers side brake conversion done. This is the first time Louie has stood on it's own off of the ground since I have had it. I only have the drivers side done so far, but I am tackling the passenger side tomorrow.

Still waiting on answers whether or not an oil pan bought for a b-body small block will work on my a-body small block.

Louie's first stance on it's own!!

Stripped the floor in Louie today and found a couple spots of rust.

Under the rear seat is solid. It is just sitting in there unbolts for now.

As far as installing a new floor pan or patch welding or whatever it will take to fix my only rust problem on the entire car, what do you guys recommend? Keep in mind that I am not a welder. I have an uncle that welds for me, but he takes 4 or 5 months to get to anything I need done, and doesn't ever finish it. I can do very minimal welding myself.

Tons of pictures but no feedback from members? I still need to know whether or not a milidon oil pan bought for a b body will work on the dart.

In short no it wont that oil pan is for b body, keep up the posting of pics when fundssss say so good luck.

Oil pan will work, just called a local shop. Headers are still a mystery. Here is a picture of them.

Hmmmm that means I will have to sell them. What is a good combo with a 400 ish horse .508/.294 cam as far as headers and exhaust?
