1968 Barracuda Fastback Trunk Lid Issues

Hello, looking for some information for a friend.
He has a 68 cuda FB and complains the decklid won't stay open.
My thought is it is the horizontal spring rods and not the hinges?
Any thoughts?
Also, either way, where is the best place to find a replacement to correct the issue?

The spring rods have three settings, has he moved them to the other settings? Also, if he has the reproduction trunk mouldings they are heavier than the originals and the trunk rods are not strong enough to hold it up...

I don't think the fastback lid uses rods.

There is a a coiled spring on each hinge to hold the lid up

Yep, I forgot about the fastbacks using different springs, I was thinking about the notch...

I've never heard of these hinges being reproduced. Probably because its so easy to adjust them and they almost never fail completely.

Sounds easy, however I don't know if the owner of the car knows how!
