It's only worth what you can get for it... These cars do not do well on the internet. I have been watching them daily for years. It looks like a kick *** example and especially cool to be a S Notch with a 4 gear and exceptionally rarer big block car. Do I think it's worth 50 K? Not by a long shot. Would I love to own it. Your darn tootin. I'm betting it would bring in the very high 30's to mid 40's tops. Of course, there are eccentric Mopar guys with deep pockets that would pay the 50k because it's like spending $5000.00 for us.

Full documentation? #'s match? I think mid to high 40's. Michigan car it's whole life?
Waiting on response if any paperwork & History, Kinda lucky i got an answer from them at all.
They threw 55k at me, probably to see if i would bite.
I have been following them over the years also. 40-50's
Never seen one in the 30's and yes True Somone will pay extra just to have it.
This day in age you have to pay to play or get dam lucky.
If it has paperwork that would be great, I bet it doe,s in one pic on the front seat looks to be something there,
From the condition and story so far i bet it has everything. Someone loved that car and knew what they had.
Probably passed on and Family sold it to them.
Low mile Original car Formula S 4 spd 1 Owner 40-50k is a good deal to me. id love to play with that as i had a 340 4 spd notch in the 80.s see profile pic

Looks to be a rust free factory 383 4 spd. Coming from a flipper its not gonna be cheap. But he wont hold it too long so what ever market will bear. Very few of those around in that type of condition.

Nothing more true was ever written! The only way he would hold it is if he is the broker not the actual owner.

All of his shop experts know everything about nothing.. Dennis does the coffeewalk thing on youtube where he uncovers some cool gems. This is a rarity, only you can decide how much it's worth reaching for.

i'll echo the musings above that market rate looks like mid 30's to low/mid 40's dependent on a whole host of details.

it's got a lot going for it, but i don't think it brings the nickel

that being said... notch guys are weird and kinda tend to break norms on pricing with these things. and you can throw in a wild card collector and it might maybe get there.

that would put us at 43K. If a person was competent to restore it themselves probably around 30K. $17000 for materials and missing parts.
paint and body will be the killer on the number. you *might* be able to squeak it in at that 30's number if you're competent, have a small stash of parts and do the majority of the heavy lifting; but the boogieman of paint/chrome/trim and interior looms large. that's just a black hole where credit cards and retirement funds go to die.

always cheaper to buy one painted or "done"**

[okay almost always]

Just depends on the sins the body man is hiding.. Once the lipstick starts to wear off you really see what you've got. Or does it become a bubble factory shortly after ownership.

we are close to being on the same page Hero. LOL It's never cheaper to buy one painted and done from a flipper or restorer. The restorer / seller might have to eat a little if they went over budget, but they are always going to be more expensive than the guy painting the car himself that is selling the materials to himself and using his own "free labor." Also like you said these are all just musings. How much is primer, thinner, paint, bondo and sandpaper nowadays? Truly the last car I painted was a 1968 Coronet R/T back in the 90's. It was electric blue lacquer (yes I'm old and was still using Ditzler lacquer LOL) The real finish came about with some ultra-high gloss urethane on top. We made the trunk extensions and lower rear quarters. The rest was a sand and paint. I bet there was less than 2 grand in materials my cost.

i think we of the same mind.

just for S&G's go price out matierials... might wanna sit down first though...

looping back to that S car... i didn't catch it in the ad copy, but it sounds like a rust bucket needing floors and lord only knows what else. that would be a chunk of change on the whole: get there from here journey.

It certainly doesn't help barracuda specific 1967-1969 sheet metal is next to impossible to find. Sure, the common stuff like floors, inner fenders ect.. But body panels are a grab your ankles experience.

I think you are spot on!
I like these cars and this looks pretty good, but they just do not pull the $. Color is not going to do it any favors.
There is a very nice 69 340 4 speed thats been on COL forever. I love that car, but there is a reason its been sitting so long....Price.
If you really want it I would offer him maybe 40 and tell him you are looking at other cars too. He makes all his money on the buy, so if he bought it cheap he may take it and keep rolling.
Good Luck and keep us posted!

Matt
