1968 Dart Oval Ramcharger single carb air cleaner install.

I have a 68 Dart GT with a 440RB SINGLE CARB. I would like to install the Dodge Oval Air Cleaner. I have seen a few Darts on line with this set up. What is the procedure to Install. The air cleaner sits high cannot close the hood.

the height of your intake might make this a non-starter.

It came out of a 1969 440 engine. I know that the 383 was an 1inch higher.

It's an Edelbrock 850 double pump.

When you say drop base is that the one specifically for the 440RB.

If anyone has performed the installation of a ramcharger air cleaner install on a 1968 dodge dart, I would like to hear from you.

Are you sure about the baseplate. The simple way to check 440 vs 383 base is put it on a flat surface. Front edge basically touch the flat surface on a 440 baseplate. 383 will be 1/2 inch above surface IIRC.

The only other way to make it shorter is to trim the throat that sits on the carb.
