Quick question...if you disconnect antenna from stereo can it cause ground issue?
My Sony started acting up but not until after I disconnected antenna to replace. New antenna wouldn't work so I left it disconnected

Maybe the Sony wasn't properly grounded elsewhere? If the ground wire wasn't connected to a good ground, it may have been using the antennas shield as a ground path.

Thank you, Roger. I grounded it under dash and now it works, just wish I could get stereo to play Napster on USB.

Look into a program called Free Hi Q Recorder.
It really IS free unless you want to buy the super high quality version and it can record anything that can come out of your computer speakers as a stereo MP3, and those will play from anything (burned disk, USB, micro SD card) anything.
I recorded this with the free version directly from a Youtube video.

Most any car radio can chassis ground through the antenna but that's not proper and would effect reception.
