1969 Dart Chrome door knob buttons, or Black?

I am restoring a 1969 Dodge Dart GT. I have about a dozen exterior door knobs to choose from but a mix of chrome buttons and black buttons. Which is correct?

I had a 69 dart 340 swinger and it had black buttons. The car was original and unrestored. I hope this helps.

my 69 gt had chrome ones, a gts I found, years ago had black buttons. Lawrence

it could have had either the black or the chrome depending on when in 69 it was built.. or at least thats what I have been told by several people.. Mine came with black ones.. but I like the chrome better so I will be switching them...

mine has chrome, built in Jan 69

All the 69sss Darts that I have had in the past were all chrome. hope this helps.I do find it interesting that some had black buttons.

it just depends on what was available at the time of assembly chrome or black.
