There are several sites that offer door latches for a 1968 Dodge Dart, but none for 1969. Conversations on this site say the 1968 latches will not work on a 1969. Why don't companies offer the 1969 version? Does anyone know where I can buy 1969 Dart door latches? Hopefully new or in good condition. Thanks

Latches? Or strikers? I just looked in Layson's catalog and no latches there. I was surprised because if they are available, they usually have them listed. You will need to start a Parts Wanted thread in the Marketplace forums.

The sad part is if the latches had the 69 up specific part they could be used for 68 down too, as long as the proper holes that seem to be there are still on the levers.

69s aren’t sold new. Some of the guys said you can use the 68 but I just found some 69 take offs recently. So that’s what I would suggest. Put up a wanted add.

How about 70-72 with all hardware. The button for the forward lock may make the difference from 68-69
My bet is they would work.

The only differences I see vs 67-68 is the 69 up have the larger lever (red arrows)
and
MAYBE have a hole for a link rather than the ball stud (76 has the hole vs the ball stud) for the outside handle blue arrow

Green arrow is the hole the 67-68 uses for the inside lock button

if the 70-72 has the lower hole on the larger lever like the lower red arrow I don't see that it would not work BUT I have never tried it so I don't know with any guarentee

Could it had been a safety thing for 1969 - like the headrests ?

At some year the latch lost the ball stub and went to a rod with plastic keeper for the outside door handle
