Big $ for that car, looks pretty good but some 'incorrect' things, like the wheels and headlamps. Good news for the people who have one, but it makes it that much harder for the 'average' enthusiast to have an opportunity.
 
Frame off restoration would concern me. Not that I have that much play money.
 
Since the B and E body prices have gone through the roof, and theres only so many of the really rare ones around, it just stands to reason that the other body styles such as the A body, will start to increase in value as more people gravitate to them because of the others being so out of reach.
 
When I see that the first thing I think of is in 1969 the USAF paid less than 1 million for a full blown UH1-H Huey helicopter.
I know that comparison seems strange, but in 1970 my buddy sold his 69 Roadrunner for 1100 bucks that year.
clearly too much money chasing too few cars.
 
If all other cars are getting more and more. That means are cars are going to get more more expensive, until no one is interested
 
I have to believe they overpaid for that car. I see ebb and flow in the prices and I believe the market will continue to shrink a little bit as mechanical skills for these type of cars are lost. And creature features become most popular. Let alone the power levels of the new breed... For me give me a big *** carburetor and a four-speed. When it's time to party.
 
Its crazy but If you have a numbers matching 340 or 383 440 car with fender tag paper work thats the ones that are bringing money Sold my very nice original #s matching swinger bout 6 yrs ago and got 16 Canadian for it . I dont know who has the money today as so many other cars to buy.
 
The auction gts was my car. I sold it late summer. The next owner sold shortly thereafter. It had four owners in 2024, that I know of. It was a solid #3. It had some issues that would be hard to overlook.

Wow 4 owners? IMO either they were hoping to make $$$, or they were "disappointed".

That’s the thing. I am shocked at the price. The guy I sold it to sold it for the same price I did, which was a hell of a lot less than the hammer price. I had it scheduled to go in for some bodywork, but the more I looked, the more problems I found. I decided to move it along. It is a beautiful car from 10 ft away, but up close… not so much.

102k and HWY145 says car was a 10 footer with body issues? Thats really bad for the person that paid that much for that car.
 
If the car was in mint shape, which appears it isn't, although high I feel it would be priced fairly if it was close to perfect. It's super low production, and a fantastic colour combo. To me it would be the most desirable 67-69 a body convertible.
 
Someone had a lot more money than brains!!!!!!!!!!! A #3 car! Someone want to buy a hot rod 69 original bb 4 speed car. Got one left in stock.
