Thought I would post what I have found about the sway bar on the 1969 Barracuda that I am restoring. I removed the sway bar that was on this car during disassembly. It was significantly rusted. Many years ago, I removed the sway bar from a different 69 Barracuda and kept it for a future need. I got it out of storage planning to use it since it was not badly rusted. While checking them out, I found that the sway bar from the car I am restoring is 15/16" diameter. The sway bar from the Barracuda I disassembled years ago is 7/8" diameter. After scouring the forum and looking at parts catalogs, I determined (as had others before me) that in 1968 the sway bar part number was 2535533 and in 1969 it changed to 2535534. The 2535534 was also used on the 70 and 71 A bodies. There is only one part number listed for each year, so I don't think the difference in diameter has anything to do with the SB vs. BB engine. Both the Barracudas that I pulled the sway bars from were 340's. The small diameter sway bar came from an early car, 9B113515. The car I am working on now with the larger sway bar is 9B131694. Maybe they were using up the 68 parts and the sway bar on the car early I disassembled years ago was a leftover 68 part. Perhaps the part number difference is because they went from a 7/8" bar in 68 to a 15/16" bar in 69 and beyond? I think both sway bars were original to their respective cars but can't be certain.
