Hey guys,

I have owned my 340 Swinger since high school...over 20 years now. The car was originally Dark burnt orange, but when I bought it, it was yellow. I kept her yellow for a few years and then painted it red. It is now time to treat the car to a full restoration, but I am up in the air about the color. Do I paint it Burnt Orange as it was new, or should I return it to Top Banana ? Some of my friends say paint it original so it matches the fender tag, but to me, my high school memories of the car are worth more to me than a number on a tag. What do you guys think ?

Its your car paint it how you want to- I'm rebuilding my car like it was/wish it was in high school- don't worry about what other people think- unless your rebuilding to make money (and then your in the wrong hobbie!) if your gonna keep it then make it however you want! :thumblef:

i say if the memories of the car are in Yellow...make the car yellow! its your car and your memories. Its going to be cooler to have old and new memories in the exact same car!

What ever color you like. But the yellow with the black out hood treatment and black stripe looks awesome ! Ron

I had mine painted silver with a black bumble bee stripe, it was beautiful and a real head turner. It was a darker color silver, can't remember the exact color name/code. I think it was actually a Chevy color............ I copied after my brothers car he had in high school because it impressed me then and also turned heads every where we went. I am currently having a Duster painted and the color I chose is because of a car I remember 20 years ago that sticks in my mind. I am going with a Atlantic BLue Pearlcoat 2005 color on the Duster.
Any colors that standout from cars you remember? If so go for it !!!! Best advice I can give.

I'd go with the burnt orange, since it's a cool rarely seen color on that car. Then again, I'm not the one who had the high school memories (mamories?) in it. My high school car was a yellow 70 Swinger so I feel for you. Do what you want, if you plan to keep it, I'd say paint it yellow.
