It's not for me.. i do love the color though... The price will be insane, like charger money i bet... the seats make me sad inside.. and i 100% hate the wiring in the engine bay.. not a big thing but for big money it's not my cup of tea

P.S. maybe it's different in other countries/states but here all of those "hot rod car sales" places are insanely overpriced and the cars are usually a pretty paint job over junk

I don't think it was ignored, it looks like it has CalTracs on it. So it may have just been set that low.

It looks like there has been A LOT of work done, so it would definitely be important to assess the quality of that work. Looks like the whole floor pan was replaced, connectors added, lower quarters replaced, etc.

And of course just the fact that there's an actual photo album with pictures on film says it's gotta be like a 20 year old restoration. It does look like it was a well documented job though

I think they're all horribly overpriced. As for the quality I think that varies a lot, the issue is that the dealerships don't usually know anything about the cars. A lot of them are on consignment, so that's where the high prices come from. The owner asks what they want and then the fee goes on top and they all end up being 15-20% too high. But the quality just depends on the owner, although if you're taking it to a consignment shop it's probably because it isn't selling easily so there tends to be something "wrong" with them.
 
Here's some closer pictures of the album, you can see the floor and looks like the torsion bar crossmember were replaced completely, plus half of the passenger quarter. The rust in the crossmember doesn't look that bad, so the fact that they just replaced the whole thing would lean to it being a better shop. Obviously I can only see what's in the picture but that looks patchable vs a whole replacement, and they did the whole replacement.

I mean, someone could call the joint. It will be a higher price because it's Canadian, but the exchange rate would take it down from there if you're paying US dollars.
 
I'm surprised that nobody mentioned the horrendous pedal pads for the clutch and brake.
They look like Canadian Tire specials.
And in the photos of the restoration you can clearly see that the car was red originally...
 
The only problem I have w/the rear height is that, the front didn't follow suit, thing looks like it's on it's way to a Knievel launch.

I mean the fender tag shows the original color as being red. If anything the pictures of the restoration showing it being red are a good thing, it's only had the one paint job from original and clearly they took it all the way down for the color change. Obviously it would probably be better for resale if it was the original red, but seems like a lot of people like sublime. Honestly I'm sick of all the high impact colors, but that's just me.

The pedal pads take what, 5 minutes to change? I barely even pay attention to tires and wheels when I look at stuff, there's about a 99% chance I'm gonna change them anyway. It's like the seats. Yeah, they're HORRIBLE, but, other than the expense of tracking down new seats changing them is easy.

Yeah that's not a resto-mod. That's a basically stock car with seats and a stereo.

A resto-mod would be like if it had a GIII hemi in it and a 5 speed. Typically restomods are late model engines, EFI, improved suspension and braking, more modern electronics.

Not sure what they were going for there, unless maybe they just got the wrong springs for the Caltracs. Can't see anything but they probably just left the front suspension factory and at factory height.
 

My guess is 45k... for which i could buy 2 nice darts or 3 good projects..

LOL! Ten years ago.

Now it would get you 2 average Darts with some minor issues or 3 projects that would cost minimum $40k each to restore if you were paying someone to do it.

A $20k Dart now is not going to be super nice. A "nice" V8 dart now is gonna be $30k most places.
 
I can't see being able to buy a 1970 340 swinger 4-speed and restore it to that quality with that much work for less than 40 Grand unless you do all the work yourself and have a couple of years of time to put into it. Jmo.
