I have an original 1970 340 SWINGER. The car has the original 14 inch rally wheels. The car currently has 225/60-14 tires. What is the largest tire that will fit the factory wheel wells? I think I can fit 245/60-14 safely.

A 245/60-15 should work. I put 255/60-15's on 15x7 Rallys with a 4.25 backspace. No rub but I do have a extra leaf.

72 Swinger 245/60x15 on 15x8s 4 1/2" backspace sacked springs and HiJackers with 40 lbs in them. 255s might work also, about an inch to the springs 3/4" to the rolled fender lip.
