So, we got the new gas tank, sending unit, filler neck, straps, etc. on! yay!!!!To be honest, I sort of hate the name swinger, now. Besides the obvious sexual connotation, I sort of wish it was more like "r/t" or "superbee" or " 'cuda " or "Scamp" or anything really...
I am sort of glad mine is a "Custom". My dad seems to think Customs are sort of low drawer, and they were the rest of the years, but in 1970 Custom was high end.
Mine had a/c and had lots of stupid chrome and such, with a vinyl top and swanky interior when it started its life...
But I am not going to restore any of that.
It is now a heavily modified and very "custom" Dart, and since I won't ever sell it, I suppose the only one I want to impress is me
So, I guess my car will will bear this badge with honor (which happens to be the only year that custom was not written out in cursive script)

Got the new bumper brackets n hardware on, and the grille and front bumper that came with the car outta the trunk!!! Not too shabby! Needs a couple small repairs and painted, but starting to look like a Dart! So, we got the new gas tank, sending unit, filler neck, straps, etc. on! yay!!!!
Was just about to start up and then nothing!
I think we need a new engine harness as we were using one off a 70 challenger and it doesn't seem to be all there, lol...
Ordered on from Evans Wiring (1970 383 a body with electric ignition)... so we'll put that on when it gets here and hopefully itll start up for break-in!!!

Thanks!!!I must say that your progress is inspiring!! And don't let Dad bust your chops about the "custom" status, in this day and age, all of our old cars are custom!!keep up the good work, the engine bay looks awesome!!
SO, the project has been on hold for the winter because the car is in North Idaho, etc...Have run in to a few bumps, like the transmission being installed incorrectly and incorrectly coupled with the torque converter. This resulted in the torque converter being destroyed...
So, we took the tranny to a shop and they're going thru the whole thing and installing a shift kit and new front pump... We bought a new torque converter as well...
Here's a pic of the car right now... All the mechanical is almost done, but it needs total exterior n interior cosmetics... The white pin stripe on the passenger side is nice, I think I'm gonna replicate it when I paint the car to its original t-6 color...
