1970 340 Dart with a Tom Hoover built 360 engine, taking offers at $15K plus current storage fee’s.

1970 Dart Swinger, a real Hemi Orange 340 Dart, black bench interior, Ralye dash automatic. Partly finished project, now powered by a custom 360 with an original 340 T/A heads/intake/six pak carbs top end. Custom built engine (including a cool kickout oil pan) hand built by Tom Hoover for use during his 1971 engine clinics while an Engineer at Chrysler. Tom Hoover as verified this is the 360 he built and signed the Dart on the inner fender pan during Chryslers at Carlisle.

Our customer has invested well over $30K in this Dart, it is painted, the powertrain is installed, needs interior installed, details etc. to be a remarkable car motivated by a remarkable piece of history. The link has over 180 pictures chronicling this project on its journey of disassemble to bare metal, repair, paint and partial reassembly.

Change in priorities and the realization that the Dart will not be able to get finished is leading Mark to offer this Dart for sale as an unfinished project.

1970 340 Dart Swinger, repainted in original Hemi Orange with blackout hood option with factory fresh air option and dual scoops.
Black bench seat interior, 727 auto, 8 ¾ rear with 3:55 SG, correct small bolt pattern drum brakes on rear, OEM kelshey hayes disc brakes up front. New lines, new master. Brand new ralye wheels (Small Bolt Pattern), trim rings and new centers. Seats have been recovered and the OEM ralye dash has been rebuilt, rechromed and restored.

A Tom Hoover built 360 with OEM 340 TA heads, intake and six-pak carbs is installed (will need the carbs rebuilt), with jet hot coated 340 manifolds.

Have the fender tag and the original door VIN decal remnant.

This partial finished project and all the parts, new and restored) is available for the best offer over $15000 plus the storage fees at the restoration shop (US Car Tool) where it is currently stored. If the new owner desires to have US Car Tool complete the assembly, the storage fee's may be waived.

Also willing to break the project up and sell some parts separately. The Tom Hoover assembled custom 360 with TA top end is available separately for $6500 and the 340 TA heads, intake and carbs are available separately for $4000. Will not sell just the body unless the engine sells first.

So you are asking 25K plus for an unfinished car. Where's the 340?

who is even selling the car, the customer or you ? is the car coming with an engine, built engine, old engine ? sorry seems confusing to me or iam just mis reading, says it is powered by a 360, then says it can be purchased seperately?

Our customer asked us to help him sell his 1970 Dart project. He has invested over $30K and he is asking for the best offer over $15K for the entire project and parts, including the Tom Hoover built 360.

Or, you can purchase just the engine for $6500

Or you can purchase just the TA top end for $4000

Original 340 is lone gone, we never had it.

He would prefer not to sell the body unless someone purchased the engine first. Give us a call (US Car Tool) and we can talk about the storage fee's.

At the end of the day, it is the owners repsonsibility to take care of them. He knows that we are willing to waive some storage fee's if we do work on the Dart so you might be able to negotiate that into the selling price, he is trying to minimize his losses on he Dart and we are trying to help him by advertising the Dart for sale and handling the sale.

No one likes to pay for the storage and we do like to charge for it, I would much rather work on the car! But, if the car sits in our shop without being worked on, we need to charge them. It costs us for the building, insurance etc. and we have a liability with the just being here. Here is a simple question I ask my customers "If your car got stolen yesterday, would you expect me to have had it locked up and my insurance and be able to cover the loss?" Of course the answer is yes.

Not trying to be obtuse, but we have some flexibility of the storage fee's.

Hope that helps!
