1971 Demon Production Numbers

I have been trying to fond production numbers for my1971 Demon 340
I have the window sticker and all order forms/paperwork with all options. Is there a good place to start crunching numbers?

1. Hemings lists the ‘71s at ‘just under 70,000 with 10,098 340s.
2. On this site a post has it at 58144 with 7981 being 340s.
Not sure how to interpret these numbers. Are the 340s subtracted from the 70k on line 1— or added to the 58+k on line 2

So, of 7981 US sales and Top Banana is supposedly 1.2% then, already 1 of 95 from Dodge without going further.

I would think the color percentage would be figured from the total produced for US and export.

Oops, you are correct. 70,000 units some sources say 1.2% is still only 840. But that doesn't jive with numbers below someone posted here a while back.

Then make it a 340 (7981 units), high impact paint (49%), hood scoops (37%), hood pins(31%), remote chrome left side mirror (26%), bench seat (27%), column shift, 3.91 gear (17%), sure grip (45%), power steering (52%)....I wish there was a way to narrow it down or someone good with mathing...

Interesting they came up with percentages but no hard numbers. I say 'they' because those charts look like Chrysler Corp info.

To have % they obviously had the numbers... It is seemingly a fairly rare car even without Mr Norms involvement. 1357 (17% of 7981) of the 340 Demons had the 3.91 from the factory. Then the other options.

I wish someone had compiled the numbers from the Norms paperwork. It all exists. Would take quite an effort to tally them up, but damn that would be good information to have.
