1971 Dodge Bonnet Scoop Question.

G'day All,
I've seen some 71 Dodge Demons with the chrome strip on the bonnet scoops, are these an option from the factory or are they a copy from the more up market cars like Coronets etc.

No, they weren't built that way.
They would have had the trim on the front of the scoops blacked out to match the scoops.
There were no 340 emblem on them either.
A lot of people use the scoops off of a '70 340 Swinger on the '71 Demons.
Personally, i think the scoops look better with the chrome trim and the 340 emblems on them, but that's me........

Actually, I believe it depended on the option you ordered. Hood Treatment cars with blacked out hoods did not have the chrome trim on the scoops. However, cars with regular painted hoods and hood scoops got the chrome trim on the scoops.
