Hello everyone I’m new here and this is my 71 Duster that I’m planning on restoring. Car has the original engine but not the transmission and I was looking to buy a 4 speed but I think this car came with a 3 speed . I think 3 speed was produced less or I’m mistaken. Need it some help with this vin tag. Any help I will appreciated
Thank you

That is well worth restoring, FC7 purple, 340, 3-speed, black bench seat, white top and stripes!

Purple body and roof, there is no white top there. It had chrome exhaust tips and AM radio.
few options but great Colors and drivetrain.

Thank you all for your answers .
Just to ask because I don't have the original tranny. Since I'm buying one is better to go with the 3 speed or go and put 4 speed
Is not about the cost but I just want to do what is best for the car.
Do I gain value or loose value on 3 or 4 speed ?

In my opinion unless you have the matching number 3 speed it shouldn't matter to much on the value of the car. The upgrade to a 4 speed would be a welcomed change for most gear heads.
