Alright so my driver door glass jumped off track when I hit a pot hole this past fall before I put her away and exploded in the door...:banghead:

So Saturday I picked up a complete 68 driver dart door for a price I couldn't pass up.

But my problem is I need to take the glass out of the 68 door and put it in my 72. Now I'm completely new to this and will need some pretty dumbed down instruction on how to do this..

Should I just use the glass or the entire assembly?
some help would be much appreciated guys, thanks in advance.

search this site-- many topics on this.

the problem you might run into is 68 glass will have different stops than 72 glass, it all should work--- the vent frame guide felt is quite expensive so be careful.

read the link above it has different links in also .

any pictures of the 68 dart door , it is not hard-- but read up & you should have minimal problems.

take the vent frame & glass out of the 68 together -- you should not ruin the felts. Lawrence

Many thanks for the links and help:prayer:

I'm still new at this so I'll be sure to do my homework on how to try and do this properly.. So for now the glass will stay in the door and I'll start reading.

On a side note I need to swap my door locks out for new ones I just picked up. Will changing the locks be easier with the glass out?(sense its all laying in the bottom of the drivers side right now..) just wondering if it make at least that side a bit easier to take care of.

I apologize for my learning curve if I'm missing something here, I am 17 and this is my first dart I'm working on so I don't have a lot of experience but make up for it in enthusiasm:blob: thanks again!!

door lock cylinders? no biggie with or without glass-- (raise glass if installed)-- just remove the spring clip & then release the plastic rod clip & the cylinder is out, Lawrence

Successful!! I got the glass out in one peice!!
Except the previous owner didnt tape the door off very well and I have red over spray on it..:violent1:
So any ideas on removing the over spray?
Id really like to get rid of it cuz my cars flat black and itl be noticeable.

Many many thanks guys!!

0000 steel wool will take paint off the glass. You might need a little lacquer thinner and cloth to clean any chrome.

Thanks guys for all the help its in without to much problem n dosnt look to bad for an amature lol
