When he got here I kept hearing a hissing, like an air compressor.
I walked on the passenger side of the Colt and damn if that tube has gone bad!
Same as the one that went bad last year.
That was a solid kick in the shorts.
Tonight I pulled the tube, sure enough the stem was half way detached.
I will call hoosier tomorrow and try to get an answer from their experts.

I also use rubber gaskets on both sides of the valve stem to prevent leakage from the valve stem hole in the wheel.

It's really depressing, and I worry that the next leak will be on the top end.
 
A slick deflating at speed is really scary, not to mention detrimental to the car & it's occupant. Ever since tubeless slicks came around, I've run them with no problems.

I called Hoosier this AM.
Had not been talking for a minute, and they offered to send another tube.
I was asking if I was doing something wrong, never got an answer.
I think they had some bad tubes.
Here is the tube picture, exactly like the first one.

Got the Alt installed, now to go find a 30 inch V Belt.
Also came up with an upper radiator hose, not perfect but should work.
It looks better than I thought it would.

Kota has not been a lot of help, but he is a lot of fun.
Our friend down the street put his irish setter down yesterday.
Makes me remember losing Lucky a while back.
Takes a long time to get over losing a good dog.

Took Kota to starbucks this morning for his first drive thru treat.
He loved it!

Found a short alt belt this morning.
Made a brace to tighten the alt on the belt.
Installed the seat belts.
2 year SFI rating.

He is methodical & intense on his builds. I understand why after seeing his wagon a few tears back at the Garland Mopar show.

Yes there is another artic blast coming tomorrow.
Yes I am methodical, to a fault, never could have made it back in the day.
And thank you on the wagon, it turned out too nice, if there is such a thing.
Wished I would have bagged it, gen 3 hemi, vintage air, tunes.
2 door conversion from the more door.
Now that would have been a RT 66 machine!
 
Looks clean! Feel sorry for you when it gets dusty or it's first oil leak. Like the twisted alternator bracket!

Good question! A couple of things are painting me into corner.
My goal was to have taken the Colt to a local track this month.
Not going to happen.
I have made a goal to get to Mokan April 2 for the slant race.
But with fuel getting stupid, that is not a real smart idea.
My Brother will be here all next week from Northern VA, so that cuts into the schedule.
We will see.

I had a sheet metal guy tell me one time that you have to make three parts to get it right.
Well, I made 2 wood ones and then this one. He was right.
It does make it easy to mount stuff, Alt, Water Pump Motor and Fuel Regulator.

Just spent a couple hour reading the full story on the Colt. Would love to see the car someday.Maybe at Carlisle? You do fine work and have a ton of patients.
I was planing on taking the Lancer to the Mopar Nationals in PA this summer but progress can be slow as you know.
Is that a 62 Lancer Grille I see hanging on the wall in the garage?

Yes it is the wagon grill, I put the 61 Trim on mine and hug the 62 Grill.
Might not make Carlisle, that is a long tow and fuel is crazy right now.
I hope we can cross paths at some point!
Long drive or tow for you also.
