NO IT'S NOT RESTORED
I am listing this ad for a friend of mine. As some of you may remember this RARE and COMPLETE matching number project was purchased by VA58 a few years ago. A 72 Duster340 in black with white stripes, white bucket seat interior, 4-speed, 3.23 Sure Grip, Rally wheel's, AM/FM Radio and a build date of B19, November 19th 1971. Build sheet, fender tag are present. Shortly after disassembly he was involved in a vehicular accident which immediately put the project on hold. Soon after he was diagnosed with cancer and several operations unable to complete what was sure to be a stellar restoration of not only a rare car today but only one of two known to exist currently. Due to these unforeseen circumstances this car and a donor 72 318 column auto in B1 blue and complete are currently for sale.
During disassembly all items removed were bagged and tagged. It was only after removing front sheet metal that the drivers side front frame rail was found to be bent. The car was involved in an accident to the front drivers location sometime in the 70's. A 70 front clip was installed at that time and the car continued to be driven up until the time it was disassembled.
AMD sheet metal has been purchased and fitting has begun. New trunk floor, trunk floor drops both sides, lower quarters and tail panel. Some blasting and etch primer has been completed to protect the bare metal. The body is a rolling shell with front frame rails still attached. This is a project for an individual with the skills and equipment needed to bring this one back where it belongs. The following link is the build thread that was started Sept 9th 2011 here on FABO. I have several more photo's if needed. Engine is COMPLETE and has never been apart and is a forged crankshaft engine. As stated above this was a running driving car when purchased August 2008. Both cars are located in Smithfield, Virginia 23430. $8,000
