All OEM TQ’s were an automatic choke that were of a choke well design. An electric assist was also used to warm up the spring for quicker road operation.

There are 4 TQ models that are of the race design class n mind that have a manual choke and use the bracket for a cable.

There are a few over the counter replacement TQ’s that have an electric choke.

Below is the 1,000 cfm manual choke racing TQ. Is this what you have?

It is not. It is a 1973 Thermoquad for a 340 A/T. My car originally came with a 318, which is why its has the manual choke cable I guess.

I have never seen a ‘70’s Chrysler product (or any for that matter) come from the factory with a manual choke. Especially in the ‘70’s.

I echo what 66fs said.
