1974 Dart Swinger Restoration

Last year I bought my 1974 Dart Swinger - since 8 month my polish friends worked on it and now it´s ready to be painted...

Just some impressions from the work and how they do it...

Now I got the whole series of pictures from the paint shop - meanwhile I own more than 1.000 pics of the resto, and still there will come some more...

Just some impressions, how they work and what have been done...

Don´t be irritated when some parts are painted that should be not, like steering, bushings, brakes, shock absorbers etc. - this parts will be changed against new ones....

After 12 month of hard work it seems we are close to anend...

Only some missing decails, and we are back on the road!

Bumble-bee-stripes: Yes or No?

Man did that turn out great! I like stripes and decals as much as the next guy but I am not sure how they look on a 74. Maybe you could make some from paper and lay it down to see before you buy and stick on. I am thinking white or off white. I put a full length black double pinstripe on mine. Great job!

I would vote no on the bumble bee stripes, they just don't look right on these years.

I have a 74 and can't find the front turn lens or the rear stop and reverse lens.

To be honest: these are the old ones. My polish mechanics restorated them, made plastic-welding, filled broken and missing parts with filament, sanded and polished it.

But some weeks ago I found at the www a vendor for repros of the front turn signals... Search at ebay for the seller "http://myworld.ebay.com/the_best_from_mexico?_trksid=p2047675.l2559"

For the rear lenses I found nothing. Maybe you can get used ones at a junk yard?

Thanks, I have been waiting for him to have those again. He was out for a while. I just ordered a set, it takes almost a month for shipping, but that is what I have heard from other people who have received these lenses from him.

Pictures, that have been made by my polish crew...

They did a great job - maybe it's not to 100% original, but it's better than it has been when it roll out the St. Louis plant...

I'm still waiting for a fitting trunk moulding and have to add the decails, but I love it even if it's still something to do...
