I have a weight that was attached to the bottom of the rear floor.
I really don't know it's purpose. This car was a 318 with a catalytic
converter. This was mounted on the right side of the car and may have
been used to counter act the weight of the exhaust system on the left
side of the car. If anybody wants it, just pay $12.00 for flat rate shipping
from El Dorado Hills, Ca. Other wise it's off to the scrapper. I would be interested with any input as to it's purpose.

Zinc block to fight corrosion.
Notice how it is erroded?
I don't think they ever came from the factory on anything but boats, so someone probably figured they would try it on thier car.

That's interesting. I thought it was a weight. From the way it
was attached it had to have come from the factory that way.
It has a # stamped on it, 3642917. Thanks for the input.

Huh, never seen one on a car before, and the only weights I have ever seen were the ones on the rear of the tranny.
I could be wrong about it being a zinc block, but it sure looks like one.

What ever it is, a magnet doesn't stick to it. It's pretty heavy, I'd say
it weighs between 10-15 Lbs. It has a plate that was on the inside floor
with 2 studs and it was attached to the bottom of car with 2 nuts.
