I apologize if I'm posting in the wrong place, I wasn't sure. Is there any interest in a decent running 198 coupled to the 3 speed manual transmission in central Florida? I am going to pull it soon to swap in the 318/ 4 speed in my 74 Duster. I rebuilt the carb and it seems to run pretty good, and appears to have some new tune up parts on it from previous owner......
What's a fair asking price if anyone were to be interested...? Thanks guys

In reality, its Worthless.

I've had 2 running and driving slant vehicles recently. I tried for months to sell them as complete engines/drive trains. I advertised them as they were running and driving and could verify before sale. I ended up pulling my dart engine and kept the slant for a month or so before selling it for scrap to get it out of my way. My D100 had a slant with a 727. I offered it for a few months, pulled it and offered it for $200. Ended up giving it to my cousin for free and he hasn't had any luck selling it in nearly two years. It's a complete running slant, good 727 trans, drive shaft, exhaust, wiring, ignition, etc.

People might want them, but they won't pay for them.

I'd love to have that transmission, but I'm half a country away. lol

Complete it's worthless. As stated above the rods alone are worth gold.

The trouble is that they're expensive to ship and so most people who want one are only going to look locally. It's similar to 7.25" axles - when I swapped to a 8.75", I just posted the axle as free to anyone who needed it for a project. It was gone in a day despite one person claiming it was overpriced.

The rods are worth more than the motor complete.

Free-$200 IMO
Last year, it took me a year to get $150 out of a complete intake down, 225, standard bore, but I gave the kid the other one I had for free as a spare! IF I was looking for me today, I either could not find even a core or the Tx. guy would demand $500!!!!!!!     :steering:

Actually, not so much. Depends on how much your machine shop charges for a rod recondition with ARP bolts. If the base cost of the rods, plus the shop cost is within $100 of the K-1 or Molner rods, go for the good rods with no miles on them.
