Hello all,
Just finished an install of a 42rh in my dart. It came off a 94 or 95 dakota v6.
I was going through my pictures and notice something funny: the trans case front pump holes are the late type and the valve body pump inlet holes are the early non enlarged type.
I found a technical service bulletin talking about the design change to a large pump inlet type valve body for 95 and up to address a pump whine condition. See pictures.
Does anyone have any experience with these transmissions that can say how common it was to have these in-between configurations? Is there an inherent weakness in having the early style valve body pump supply slots while having the late pump? Will that in and of itself cause a faint pump whine?
Thanks all,
