1996 Dodge Ram

I have a 1996 Dodge ram with a 5.9 I was wondering it if is an OBDI or an OBDII set up? The local sears went out of business so I pick up a code reader but did not buy the extra adaptor for an OBDI not thinking that I needing it. but do I for my truck?

Just go out under the dash and see if the plug in fits. It should be OBDII if memory serves. They are different leads so just see if they line up.

1996 is the first year for obdII but if its a late model 1995 it won't have OBDII

look on the door post for a month and year, then look under the steering column its within reach of the steering wheel if its OBDII

Thanks to both of you.it looks the same as the plug on the reader but just needed someone to tell me what I was seeing. I hope that makes sense!
